    I love you Bob!

You are a wonderful husband, excellent father and an all around great guy.  I could not have asked for anyone better to be my husband.  Thanks for being so loving and kind.  Happy Anniversary!

  • I am at my friends house doing her open house, she is out of town and trying to sell the house.  While I wait, and wait, and wait for a potential buyer to come and snoop through her house I thought I would blog.  My computer is finished.  We will be buying a new one sometime in the future.  We have insurance so I am waiting to here back from them.  Anyway, my friend has a nice size monitor. Not sure of the size, but the pictures on everyone's blogs look awesome.  Bob and I will have to discuss this monitor size more intently.

Alright, I stole this from Cyndee's site.  It looked like fun, and I really do not have much to blog about so I took it.  Feel free to be a theif too!

    1. What I was doing 10 years ago: Ten years ago: I was living in Florida with my husband, a dog and a cat.  Taught at a Catholic School, Kindergarten, loved it.  Bought our first house too.  Thought it was so big...it was only 1300 sq.ft. not so big.  But we enjoyed living there.

    2. 5 things on my list to do today:  1. Finish laundry  2. Do open house  3.  Maybe go to pool 4.  Make dinner  5.  Plan for tomorrow

    3. 3 Things I would do if I were a billionaire:   1. Move  2. Buy the best BMW I could 3.  Open a trust fund for Jake

    4. 3 of my bad habits:  1. Eating with out a conscience. 2. Gossip, love it, but don't do it to hurt anyone on purpose, just do it to be in the know. 3.  Making excuses for exercising.

5.Places I’ve lived:  California, Oklahoma, Florida, Virginia, Italy, Germany, Florida, Italy, Texas

    6. Jobs I’ve had:  Hallmark sales girl, drycleaner clerk, Bagel Bakery sandwich maker, Food Services at Carne Park, Italy, Jewelry girl for AAFES in Germany, Student Union Cashier in college, Bar waitress, Nursing home food service assistant, Macy's clerk, McRae's Clerk, TEACHER, mother's day out day care provider, MOM, wife, daughter...these are tough jobs.  It looks like I could not keep a job, but I started at 14 and some of them I worked two at a time.

    7. Things I want to accomplish - I want to loose my weight and keep it off, Finish my Masters (really starting it might help), See more of the world

    8. Things that scare me - My husband or son being hurt or dying, my mom dying because of smoking, other drivers

    9. Things I'm sick of -  Having to worry about money, I guess you really never do have enough of it, being fat, procrastinators (no comment there)

    10. Things I love - My husband, my son, my dog, my family, my friends, gelato, heck food in general.

  • I am so frustrated.  Yesterday when I tried to get on the computer, I could not even get the tower to turn on.  We had a thunderstorm the night before but I am not sure that caused the problem.  I have a lap top that my son stepped on so the picture is distorted.  I hate how small the key board is. I am constantly messing up.  So I may not be around for a bit.  Gateway is giving me a run around with support.  All I want is an authorized tech to look at it so that I can see if insurance will cover it. But they tell me to call this number and someone can help me.  Then that someone says oh you need to call this number. We bought the computer at a military base store (AAFES for all you savy military folks) so Gateway keeps telling me this computer is registered as a business computer because it says military on it!  And to think, I liked Gateway.  So frustrating.  Hope to be back soon.  Take care.

Well, I have been complaining about money, how much gas costs, how expensive it will be to go to Atlanta for a summer vacation...etc, etc... but what I haven't shared is where our money has been going lately, besides gas and food.  We have been doing another project.  We "fixed" a project that we did before...our bedroom and master bath. When we bought the house it looked like the pictures below,

    Master BR-1  Masterbath-1

    Master bath 2-1   house 001

    Then we decorated:

    IMG_3575 IMG_3572

    IMG_3576 IMG_3579

This was fine, but the greens were very dark, especially the bedroom.  We knew we would have to redo this before we moved.  The bathroom needed to feel more "spa like".  Well, we were hoping that we were going to get orders to move, so we decided to start to work on this project this summer.  We have been working hard, or I should say Bob has been working hard, I have been doing the shopping part.  So now we feel like we have accomplished what we should have done in the first place:

    IMG_5455-1 IMG_5456-1

    IMG_5458-1 IMG_5457-1

    IMG_5459

So what do you think?  More spa like?  The shower door has to be changed out, but that will happen when we have saved a few bucks for it.

Unfortunately, our thoughts on moving away from here have been put on hold for the time being.  Bob has tried twice to get a new job out of here...once in Illinois and then just a few weeks ago back to Italy ( Bob's mom will be relieved that it did not happen). The reason for not getting either of these jobs is because we have not been at our current duty station long enough.  So we have to stay put for three years before trying to go overseas and four years for another state side assignment.  We can start looking at overseas in November.  Oh well, they say third times a charm! All we know is we want out of here, sooner than later.

  • An afternoon funny...well at least it is to me:

Sitting at the table during lunch today,
Jake, Gracee and I are discussing our plans for tomorrow.

I tell them we are going to the pool.

Grace asks me " Can Jake dive?"

Jake looks at Grace and says...

    "No Grace, batteries die."

He is such a smart cookie!

  • Ohhh, I am in a mood right now.  I hate when I feel this way.  Grouchy, crabby, rrrrrr...don't mess with me kind of mood.  My son told me I was a meanie today.  I was.  I did not feel like dealing with no ones crap today, especially 2 four year olds.  ARG!!!! Must be PMS... I need a mojito!

I am watching my neighbors daughter this summer.  She is the other 4 year old, well technically not until next week, but close enough.  She is a sweetie, but don't let her act fool you.  She is a smart little fire cracker.  Jake loves her and although it has only been a week, it has been good having her here...he has a playmate, and I have someone to entertain him!  Today however, was not a good day, but that is due to my mood. But, I am glad she is spending the days of summer with us.

I am going to see Sex and the City tonight. A couple of my girl friends and I are having a girls night out.  I hope it is fun.  We are going to go somewhere, Outback maybe, and have appetizers and a few drinks first.  Not to many, mind you, I don't want to pass out at the movies.  I hope it is good, I hate spending money on a movie, especially these days with how high it cost to get in, and then be completely disappointed.  Edit:  Movie/Girls night out rescheduled for next weekend!

I wasn't a Sex and the City fan until I became bedridden while I was pregnant with Jake.  I spent three long weeks in an Italian hospital, where there was only one english speaking channel to watch on the tv.  So one of the nice techs asked me if I wanted to watch all the series that were out at that time.  I said sure, never really saw it before, after the first night, and 4 shows later, I was hooked.  I could not watch enough of them.  It was embarrasing sometimes when someone would walk in, like the doctor to check on my well being! So that is how I became a fan. Thought you might want to know that.

Nothing exciting planned for the rest of the weekend.  Trying to stay cool and avoid the big wind gusts that we have been having here.  I swear, this is really the windy city, not Chicago.  But it does move the hot air around, so I guess that helps!  Have a good weekend!

Oh, one more thing...have you heard about FlyLady?  My friend, Whitney, introduced me to this site and it is pretty good.  You do get lots of e-mails, but it is managable.  However, it really helps you to get your life in order, your priorities straight and it helps you be a better person.  Check out this site, when you have a chance...lots of stuff on it so you got to go through it.  But I think it is worth it:  flylady_125

  • And the answer is:

The water from the photo in the last post came from my son's window blinds!  I thought I kept my house cleaner than that!  How gross...imagine all that dust on the blinds is also breathed into our bodies!  YUCK!!

Love your comments and guesses!  Thanks for playing.  You are all winners in my book!

  • My baby is sick...he has strepe.  Poor kid.  He has been asleep since 12:00.  It is now 3:25.  He never sleeps this long.  I went in to check on him a few minutes ago. He did not move.  Took his temperature (almost normal) still did not move.  I don't have the heart to wake him, he obviously needs his sleep.  But he is breathing!   It is going to be a late night for us...oh well.

Can you guess where this dirty water came from?  I will tell you in my next entry. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.  It is so gross! Winner gets nada~

  • A weekend of organizing, fish frying, Patriotism, and then some...

Hope everyone had a great, long weekend.  I know the weekend already seems like it was eons ago, but I am finally finding time for xanga.

Our weekend was a busy one, but a fun one.  Hubby got all into organizing things this weekend so I thought I would share his work with you.

First he organized my "craft and crap" closet aka the guest room closet, there is still room for a guest...

    IMG_5419 IMG_5418-1

Then he did my "ceramic and more crap" closet:

    IMG_5421-1

    Followed by my son's closet:

    IMG_5420

He also did our bathroom drawers:

    IMG_5423 IMG_5424

    And our closet:

    IMG_5425 IMG_5426 IMG_5427-1

I, of course, helped out.  I did the junk drawer.  When you see the picture it does not look like much was done, but trust me...there was a lot of junk in there.  This was a lot of work, that is why I only did this drawer...LOL!

    IMG_5422

So now we are well organized in our house.  I wonder how long it will last?

We also went to our friends house and had a fish fry.  There was some delicious food there. We had a great time and stuffed ourselves.  I though I took more pictures but I guess the Mojitos were affecting the photographer??? Here are a few of  the main course, though...

Finally, dad and Jake are hard at play in the sand box and Jake is showing his patriotism by sporting a tatoo..got to love it!

So that is about it.  Yesterday was the last day of work for me! YEAH!!!!!

Now it is time to enjoy the summer.

  • *** Personal note:  To those who I told about my Blogger site...it isn't going to happen!  I do not like it and so I have decide to forget it.  Besides this one takes up enough of my time.  But the thought was good.***

We had a fun time at the zoo today until Jake completely broke out in a rash of bumps all over his body.  He was rolling down a hill with his friends, a zillion times, and when he was done we soon noticed bumps all over him.  When we took him home we bathed him and gave him some benedryl because he was itchy.  Took a nap, and the bumps are slowly disappearing.  So that was fun.

I am quiting my job in two weeks.  Have I already mentioned that?  It is my part time, part time job...really a joke of a job.  I help out at a Mother's Day Out program 2 days a week.  I work in the baby room, which is super easy, most of the time.  I will miss the babies, but I don't want to work this summer...Jake and I need lots of pool time, plus I will be watching my neighbors daughter, so we will be busy.  I am making sure we are busy so that I can keep those two out of trouble and wear them out so they will nap in the afternoon.   Jake will be starting Pre K this fall so on the days he's in school I am going to be working on me...my health, my looks, etc.  The goal is to enter my 40's a new and improved me...keeping my fingers crossed.  I am really good at setting goals, but keeping them isn't always as easy.

We are planning a trip to Atlanta for the 4th.  I can't wait.  Going to see my sisters.  My parents will be coming up from Florida.  I haven't been to my sisters' homes since 2004.  We are looking forward to it.  Hopefully the drought problem from last year is not as bad this year.  I want to bring my niece a slip-n-slide, but only if she is allowed to use it.

Speaking of slip-n- slides... I have been working on this video, but it was taking me to long to get it the way I wanted it, so I just threw it together to share with you.  The music has nothing to do with it, but I figured it was good enough.

While waiting for this video to load, I went back to read my last entry and realized I rehashed everything again.  Oh well maybe by reading it twice you will really remember it.   Like you care!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
