  • How much excitement can one take?

It has been a busy couple of weeks since Mother's Day.  We are in the process of moving from Abilene.  Movers came the Thursday after Mother's Day and packed every thing up and had it heading out on Friday.  It rained both days but we had enough breaks in the rain that things were pretty well loaded into the truck without getting soaked.  No major catastrophes except that the leg on my kitchen table broke when the movers flipped it.  You should have seen their faces when it fell off.  "We did not do it!"  I just laughed.  It had a crack, which I knew about but never realized it went all the way through.  Oh well, they were nice enough to glue it together for me and hopefully it will be fine when it arrives in New Jersey.

We have been living in our house for the past 2 weeks sleeping on air mattresses, trying to cook a few meals with little pots and pans, sitting in camping chairs.  I am pretty much done with this.  I consider this roughing it.  I am not one who likes to camp.  A camper would be roughing it for me...so you know this is not my idea of the Ritz.

We will be moving into base lodging on Friday and then on Saturday head up to Weatherford to spend time with our friends the Wilson's.  Bob has to come back here on Monday night but Jake and I are staying there until Bob is done and we head out to Ohio on the 4th of June.  Plan to visit family in Ohio and then get to New Jersey on the 14th of June.

I am so excited about moving.  Excited doesn't even begin to explain how I feel about moving away from here.  I have made a few good friends and will miss them greatly, but other than that "Hasta Luego Baby!"

I am just happy to be east of the Mississippi.  I have no idea what NJ has instore for us but we will make the best at whatever comes our way.  Hopefully only good things do.  Everyone I have talked to that has actually been stationed at McGuire AFB has loved it.  All the negativity that I hear usually comes from those who have only heard about NJ.  So we shall see, optimism is leading the way.

It may be a while between posts but I plan to keep this up, just for a little while it will be hard while in transition.  Hope all is well for everyone (the few) who still reads this.  Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we travel to our new home.  Thanks!
