  • GRRR....

Sometimes I just do not like the Military!  Many of you know that we have been trying to move away from here.  We have tried for two different assignments, one to Illinois and another back to Aviano, Italy.  Both fell through because we have not been in Abilene long enough.  Fair enough.  Last week Bob received an email from "them", whoever that is, asking him if he was possibly interested in an assignment to Travis AFB, California.  After a quick call to me he told them yes.  He told them we still had 5 months to go before we would be considered "living here long enough".  They said there would be no problem in getting a waiver for 5 months.  SURE there would be no problem...today Bob gets to work finding an email saying sorry we can not waiver you!  AHHHH!!!

We did not even tell our families because we wanted to wait until we knew it was going to happen.  Because, obviously, you just never know, so why upset the family.  As far as they are concerned moving to California would be like moving overseas again.  They would not be happy about it, well except maybe Aunt Patty and Uncle Mike, they would still be close enough to visit when they wanted to and they would have liked going there to visit.

    I know things happen for a reason.  Maybe the reason for this happening is because our perfect assignment is just around the corner, like Hawaii maybe?  Then again it could be South Dakota, Nebraska or Arkansas....I hope not! :-}

Here is to hope and prayers that we get a great assignment sometime in the next year!

  • Salute!

Just sorry that you were not here to share it with me...okay no I am not, I loved having most of this cheese to myself! HA!  A special thank you and hugs to Heather for bringing it back for me!  Gracie!

  • ** EDIT:  Check out my friends blog, she posted pictures of the food from the party and they looked so good!**

I can not believe that we only have 2 months of this year left!  YEAH!!!  Not that it has been a bad year or anything, but I am looking forward to 2009...because I know we can try really hard to get orders to move!!!  Can you tell I really am ready to move, it is that three year itch. Yep it has been three years as of tomorrow that we arrived to this small Texas town in the middle of nowhere...I won't say anything else about that.

I hope that everyone had a fun halloween.  We had a pre trick or treating party at our house.  The kids came over around 4:30 for fun, games and dinner.  Everyone pitched in with the food and we had a good time.  Jake was dressed as Curious George. The adults even dressed up.  The dogs did too, well Shelby didn't too hot for her outfit, but Spartacus, our friends dog was a vampire.  Very cute.  The two dogs some how disappeared soon after the party started.  Suzanan and I went out to search for them, we were dressed up too.  Made alot of neighbors giggle when we pulled up in our costume asking if they happened to see two small white dogs, one was dressed like a vampire!  Dogs were safe and sound when we returned, who knows where they went, but they did not get to go trick or treating!  Bad puppies!

Here are a few pictures of the evening:

  • Father/Son Time

Today Jake had some Daddy time.  Bob took Jake out fishing for the first time.  They had a good time, Jake lasted about 15 minutes before he wanted to go and feed the ducks instead. Jake was so excited when he got home.  I asked him if he caught any fish and he told me that there weren't any in the water! Maybe next time.

although he did fall asleep when they left to go find another place to fish!

  • Breaking a promise!

    I know, I know, I know....

I promised no more sleeping photos.

But this was a proud moment in our lives with our son,

    I could not help it.

It was his last soccer game,

    he played hard,

most of the time he was yawning while he was running,

    but he played hard.

He was so proud of his trophy, he just could not let go.

    But remember, he played hard...

  • Today Jake was told to go and clean his room up.

It became very quiet after a few minutes of  "cleaning up",

So I go to see what he is up to.

    This is what I found...

By the way, he slept like that for over an hour!

  • WOW!

My neighbor's son has a project to do, it is a contest and the theme is WOW!  It can be anything artistic, so he chose photography.  His mom and I came up with the idea of him going to the wind farm that is near by.  I said he could use my camera since it takes really good pictures.  We got there and drove around the perimetry of the farm, not quite close enough for those WOW pictures that we (I) wanted.  So we went up to the office to ask where a good place to take pictures might be.  The man there told Suzana he would take them out on the grounds so we could get up and close.  Well, I got to go instead of her since I knew how to work the camera.  Let me tell you, that was a WOW! experience.  Ricky took some great pictures too!  Here are a few I want to share with you.

  • You are The Moon

    Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

    What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

Now this is a bit scary!  I remember doing these cards when I was younger.  The only line I agree with is the last one!
