Birthday Surprise and Easter Celebration
I hope that everyone had a beautiful Easter day. We had a picture perfect day. God has been good to us and for that I am very thankful. I will share some pictures at the end of the post of our day but first I want to tell you about Bob's birthday celebration.
Bob's birthday isn't until the 18th but I wanted to do something fun for him so I decided to take him to Dallas for the night to see Ron White, a comedian. We went with our good friends Amy and Marshall. We left early Friday morning. Heather watched Jake for the night. He had a blast and I am so greatful to her and Brad for watching him. Bob had no idea what we were doing for the evening, or so I thought. We got up to Dallas and relaxed for a while at the hotel and then got ready to go out to eat dinner. When we walked out of the hotel to get into the car there was this limo sitting up front and Amy jokingly says "Here's your car for the night Bob." We all laughed and Marshall walks up to the driver and says "Brian, I am Marshall Wilson."and shakes his hand. My first thought was Geez...he knows everyone. But then Amy and Bob and I look at each other in shock when we realized that Marshall got us a limo for the night! Not one of us knew, not even Amy. That surprise totally made the night. It is good to have friends in high places! HA!
So we go to eat at this great restaurant... Pappadeaux. Excellent food. I had Talapia stuffed with a mixture of crab and mushrooms...incredible. Bob had steak. Everyone was pleased with their meals. So we still think that Bob has no idea we are going to see Ron White. We had the waitor bring Bob a beer and the tickets, and tell him that it was from Ron White. Well while I was at the bathroom Bob tells Amy that he knows but he wasn't going to tell me. I return to the table and the waitor brings the beer and screws up and says this is from Paul White. He realized he screwed it up and we are all laughing. Amy says that is like saying Stevie Vandross and the waiter, not getting it, says you mean Luther Vandrose...DUH! So then Bob informed me he knew. I was mad, he went and started searching the internet to find out what was playing in Dallas that night that he would want to see...he figured it out weeks ago. He is a pest, no more surprises for him!
After dinner we went to the show. It was awesome. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. But boy am I getting old, loud hecklers were getting on my nerves, drunks were getting on my nerves, and my body sure is not use to staying up until almost 2AM... and then waking up at 7, especially when I did not have to do that! UGH! But we had such a good time and are so greatful that Amy and Marshall went with us. It is nice to have such good friends.
Here is the limo driver waving goodbye.
I also need to say that Dallas is a great city. Lots to do, so opposite of Abilene. We went and saw this statue, The Mustanges of Las Colinas. It is the largest equestrian statue in the world. Kelly this is for you...
Today for Easter Jake had fun looking for his Easter basket. The bunny left a trail of jellybeans and chocolate all over the house leading to the basket. He also hid eggs all over. Jake loved looking for them. Then Marshall and Amy and Heather and Brad and all the kids came over for a late lunch. We had a really nice time hanging out, eating good food, and enjoying the beautiful weather. God is Good!
Jake found the chocolate as soon as he woke up
Grace and Jake hunting for eggs
Have a great week!

Sorry that he had already figured out the surprise. But it seems like you guys had a wonderful time.
:giggle:
:goodjob:Pappadeaux's is one of our favorite resturants. Thats actually where we are planning on taking Aaron for his birthday this year, but one of the ones in Houston. You have to try one of the other chain resturants like their steak house, and even though Im mexican I always like Papasitios, not to metion their margaritas, and chips!:fun:
OOOO... you must try the Blackened Catfish Opelousas the next time you go to Pappadeaux's, but I know it will be a while since Boring-liene doesnt have any of these cool resturants!!!!
Im not a big seafood fan, but I loooooove Papasita's.
Its like a sister restuarant to Papadeaux's. We actually have a Papadeaux's here in Bore-mont
but not a Sita's. :-/
It looks like you guys had a blast. I am the same way about staying out late, and dealing w/ obnoxious people.
Oh boy--all this time I have thought Bob's bday was the 14th!!! It's the 18th??? Well, at least hopefully my card wasn't late this year! HA!!
WOW---Love the horse statue!!! Incredible....might require a trip to see it in person!
Glad you all had a great time in Dallas and a fun easter! Truly blessed you are!!
Love you! Kelly
